These Terms & Conditions govern your use of actoffscript.com and the purchase of Off Script products. Off Script is a brand operated by Modus Anomali LLC, a company formed in the State of New Mexico, United States, also operating the Out of the Box Labs brand. By using this site or purchasing a product, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase our products. Our products are not offered or sold to residents of the European Union or the United Kingdom.

2. What we sell

Off Script offers digital, AI-assisted products: personalized audio experiences, written reads, supporting digital materials, conversational tools delivered through our web app, Backstage, and live online workshops, generated from or run on the information you provide. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any product at any time.

3. Not medical or psychological care

Off Script products are self-guided practices for everyday patterns - focus, motivation, getting unstuck. They are not therapy, medical care, psychological treatment, or a substitute for professional advice of any kind. If you are dealing with a health condition or a crisis, please seek qualified professional support. Do not use our products as a replacement for it.

4. If you tell us you need help: the safety pause

Our products are not a crisis service. Some of our tools ask a safety question when what you write suggests you may be in danger. While that question waits, it stays on your screen with its two buttons, "Yes, I need help" and "No, I'm safe - go on", and where to find help right under them: you answer it by tapping one of them. If you tap "Yes, I need help" (or type or say those exact words), we show you emergency and crisis resources right away, pause your whole Off Script account, and close every session you had open, in every product, for good. That answer is the only thing that pauses your account. If you answer yes in your own words, or a session is closed or stopped for your safety without that answer, we show you the same resources right away and that session ends (if it was stopped for your safety, Take Two, Actually No and Unstuck stay closed for you), but the rest of your account stays open. Saying you are spiraling, using a strong word, or having a bad day never pauses your account.

While your account is paused:

• every product and every conversation stops, on the website and in the app: no sessions, no reminders, no notifications and no messages from our products. Every screen shows where to find help first (your local emergency number and findahelpline.com), then that your account is paused;
• we never send you an email or a message about the pause. Your payment provider may still send its standard receipt for a cancellation or a refund;
• we cancel any active subscription by hand as soon as we see the pause, so you are not charged again. If a payment still goes through after the pause started, we refund it without you having to ask, and anything bought while your account is paused is not delivered;
• you can always delete all your data and sign in or out, and on our website you can also download a copy of your data;
• if you delete your data while your account is paused, your account is deleted with it, and if you come back later you start from scratch. From the pause we keep only what we need to cancel your subscription and refund you (the dates, what you bought, the payments to refund, our checkout's customer reference if we have one on file, and a coded fingerprint of your email address so a late renewal is still caught, never the address itself or what you wrote), until that is done. If a conversation with Soc (the coach in In Your Corner) was stopped for your safety (answering "Yes, I need help" anywhere after talking with Soc counts too), we also keep a sealed, encrypted copy of that conversation, which our products never read, for up to 3 years, and In Your Corner stays closed for you.

Refunds after a pause. Within 60 days of the pause, you can ask us to refund the subscription payment for the billing period in which the pause started, and any one-time product you have not used. The exact date is shown on your screen. Write to support@actoffscript.com from the email address you use for Off Script.

Coming back. There is no deadline to come back. Write to support@actoffscript.com from the email address you use for Off Script and we reopen your account by hand. You get back what you own, with these exceptions. The sessions that were open when you answered "Yes, I need help" never reopen. If you answered "Yes, I need help" anywhere, or a session of Take Two, Actually No or Unstuck was stopped for your safety, all three stay closed. If a conversation with Soc was stopped for your safety, or you answered "Yes, I need help" after talking with Soc, In Your Corner stays closed. You can ask for a refund of what stays closed within the 60 days. Cancelled subscriptions are not restarted. If your account is paused again later, the same rules apply.

We do this to keep you safe, not as a penalty.

5. AI-generated content

Our products are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence, personalized from your intake answers. AI-generated content may occasionally be imperfect or imprecise. You remain responsible for the decisions you make and the actions you take.

6. Refunds

All sales of digital products and live events are final, except where a guarantee is expressly stated on the product's sales page at the time of purchase, where the law of your jurisdiction requires otherwise, or as described in section 4 if your account is paused for your safety. Where a guarantee applies, its conditions and time window are the ones written on that page. To claim it, email support@actoffscript.com from the address you purchased with, within the stated window. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days; any instalment not yet charged is cancelled. Please write to us before opening a dispute with your bank: we answer within two business days.

7. Acceptable use

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the products for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute, or share the products; reverse engineer any part of the service; use the service for unlawful purposes; or attempt to disrupt its security or operation.

8. Your content

You retain all rights to the information you submit (such as intake answers). You grant Modus Anomali LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that information for the purpose of operating the service - generating and delivering your products, providing support, and improving the service.

9. Intellectual property

All site content, product formats, methods, software, designs, and branding are owned by Modus Anomali LLC or its licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Products and services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Modus Anomali LLC for any claim arising from these terms or the products is capped at the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or $100 USD.

11. Disputes

Before any formal proceeding, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution for 30 days by writing to the contact email below. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration in New Mexico through the American Arbitration Association. Disputes will be conducted only on an individual basis; to the extent enforceable, both parties waive class actions and jury trial.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the site or products after changes constitutes acceptance.
